Online Child Exploitation Sting Leads to 51 Arrests

Nicknamed “Operation Broken Heart,” a sweep covering Harris, Fort Bend, and Montgomery counties revealed suspects involved in child pornography, child trafficking, and online solicitation. The sweep happened over several months and resulted in 51 arrests, half of which were filed in Montgomery County. Several of the suspects were involved in previously reported cases.  

Harris County Officials Arrest 15 in Cypress Prostitution Sting

The Harris County Constable Precinct 4 Office arrested 15 suspects during the week of May 3rd, 2019 during an undercover prostitution sting. The sting was conducted in north Harris County, near FM 1960, from Kuykendahl east to Aldine Westfield. All suspects were charged with solicitation of prostitution, a class B misdemeanor.  

Texas Court Blocks Revenge Porn Law

The Texas appeals court has blocked the earlier revenge porn law [the Relationship Privacy Act, SB 1135(2015)] due to Constitutional concerns. The law previously prohibited the promotion or disclosure of intimate images without obtaining consent from the individual(s) depicted.
